A woman of faith sharing all that God has done for her.

Welcome to my page! I hope you find this a place of encouragement. I believe it is so important to share our stories of trials, overcoming, being blessed, and blessing others. When we share stories we connect, we get inspiration, we find the courage to step into our calling. I will be sharing what God has done in my life as well as what He is teaching me in His Word. I would love to hear your stories and what God is teaching you lately. Let's connect and encourage each other to be the person God has called us to be!

Never miss an update!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 15th anniversary at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. We had such an amazing time. The staff at the Grand Hyatt made a concerted effort to ensure that our anniversary celebration was... well... grand. The only drawback was the parking fee. We pulled in to valet and were told it would be $45 for valet parking and $35 for self parking. However, in Buckhead where parking spots are a hot commodity, it isn't unusual to be charged a hefty parking fee. Just calculate that in before you go.

Upon arriving at the reception desk, our hostess wished us a Happy Anniversary, upgraded us to a room with a view, and offered to send a bottle of wine to our room compliments of the Grand Hyatt. And even though we were checking in early, they did not make us stow our luggage until our room was ready. We were allowed to go ahead to our room. The room was very warm and inviting.

It also had beautiful scenic views. Looking out the windows in one direction we could see vast blue skies and green trees (picture #1). Looking in another direction was a great view of the Atlanta skyline (picture #2). And then looking even in another direction we could see Lenox Mall which was in walking distance (picture #3). The views from our room at sunset were incredibly beautiful as well (pictures 4 & 5).

Once we had checked in and unloaded our luggage in the room, we headed to the pool. To be honest, I could have stayed there for the rest of the day. It was amazing. The Grand Hyatt has a pool bar with a wait staff walking around offering free snacks and drinks. They were serving everything from complimentary bruschetta, to free popsicles, to a sangria on the house. Within 30 minutes of arriving at the Grand Hyatt I already felt like royalty. I was honestly concerned about the hotel pool's privacy being that the Grand Hyatt is set in one of the busiest parts of Atlanta, but it was actually quite nice. I was able to get some reading done (the book is fantastic by the way).

My husband and I did have dinner reservations at McCormick and Schmick's, so we dragged ourselves away from the pool to get ready. We Ubered over to the restaurant, which was totally fine, but we could have eaten at some amazing restaurants within walking distance. We will remember that for next time. That being said, the staff at McCormick and Schmick's took great care of us and made sure our anniversary was special. We received a complimentary dessert and when we were leaving we were given a menu as a keepsake. I thought it was strange to give a copy of the menu as a momento

until I noticed the top. They had printed a greeting specifically to us for our anniversary! How cool! Such a small thing, but it meant a lot.

After dinner we walked around CNN Center, to which McCormick and Schmick's is attached. Then we went through Centennial Olympic Park and took a horse and carriage ride. All very romantic. I loved the fact that we didn't have rigid, set plans. We were able to just walk around and enjoy the city.

We Ubered back to the hotel and went to the hotel lounge. It was very elegant with flexible seating areas. We decided to sit at the bar and watch boxing of all things. I know that doesn't sound romantic, but when you are with the love of your life it really doesn't matter what you do as long as you are having fun together. The bartender offered us a complimentary champagne in honor of our anniversary.

I'm telling you, everyone was so kind to us at the Grand Hyatt. I think it is the best service I have ever received. If you are in the Atlanta area, you should really check it out. Below are a few other pictures I took just to give you a sense of the atmosphere. Have you stayed at a great place in Atlanta? I would love to hear about it!
